About me & my blog
First things first. Serena is not my real name. The real one is Sachini. But here I chose to go with Serena for one specific reason.
Not that I know all of the languages but, 'serenity' is my favourite word in all of the 7000 something languages out there (alien languages not included). Why? Because, serenity.... is everything I want to achieve in life. That's something I slowly learned through my fair share of life (28 years of it at the time I'm writing this). Funniest thing is that few years after falling in love with serenity, it occurred to me that my 2nd name 'Nisansala' (which I hated almost all of my conscious life) translates into my favourite word, 'serenity'.
So... I studied chemical engineering and specialized in environmental engineering which ended up being my thing. I love sustainability! I love everything about it. The science of it, people involved in it, the research, the technology, different cultures, art, books, stories,... just about anything even remotely related to sustainability. This love for sustainability is what made me a learner. And, THAT is how this blog came to be.
With time, I learned that I love learning new things and sharing those stories with others (Props to my friends and family who'd listen to my stories for hours). This blog is sort of a tribute for things I learn and a place to share them with the rest of the world (and also a archive that I can look back on everything I've forgotten with time). I can't really pin it under one niche (at least at the time I'm writing this). Here, you'll find a mixed salad of articles on things I find interesting with a dash of my personality sprinkled on top. Feel free to explore the tabs and tags. You might stumble upon things you're interested in too.
This blog is a result of cumulative inspiration from a few of my favourite science educators and YouTubers. But, all the social media out there is too noisy for me. This is my cozy internet-cabin where my small internet-community will gather up and read/listen to my stories while enjoying a cup of hot mocha with extra whipped cream on top (or...any of your favourite drinks 'coz, why not?)
